Comments  First let me congratulate all of you writers for the great job you are doing and all of the fine science fiction you are producing on this site.  Next let me say that I enjoyed reading your last couple of episodes.  Your doctor and cook really have interesting backgrounds.  S  says you are looking for ways to better your stories  when we comment so let me say  a couple of things that bothered me a bit.  In Fire and Flames I was expecting the whole crew to have more concern than they did about the doctor being spirited away.  I have liked the feeling I got in other stories about  them caring deeply for each other and thought their bond might be stronger.   In Bygones I got a bit confused by some of the characters and situations and had to go back and reread several sections.  But don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed reading these and hope to see many more.    Melissa

I just found your site again  and was surprised to see all that you guys have written since my last visit.   I read a couple more stories.   Mathias was fun and some of it made me laugh.   I also like the one where Cowboy and the security guard get kidnapped and released.  I'm still wondering who helped them get let go and hope you write that one soon.    Kim

Bygones    This one was a nice character study of Zahirah.  I had no idea she was so complicated or had such an interesting past.  I think it would be beneficial to your readers to do an in depth piece, like this,  on each of your characters at some point.            Chuck

Fire & Flames.   I enjoyed seeing a good part of the action taking place off of the ship.  I also think that Nova came to life in this episode.  I saw her only as a background player before this. Nice episode with a lot of new background information on the doctor.   Chuck

Hey, guys, Kelly here (I just happened to have my alternate email's window open), I see your comment page is down, but wanted to say I enjoyed the Mathias episode, seeing Brock holding true to our expectations of him as the hero.  Crew interaction remains consistent, folk staying in character and all.  I like this sort of in-the-background character that Mathias is, that maybe if they need help later they've got someone to call upon.  Though, this episode seemed a little shorter and less complex than the previous ones - that can be a good thing (sometimes too much complexity  means the reader gets lost), but this seems like it needed a subplot - just something minor on the sidelines to mix things up a bit.  Overall though I did like it (hey, nothing like constructive criticism says "I was paying attention when I read this") and am glad I've got some time off to read the next one -- K.

Tyler - Thank you for your comments. Yes, all of the people we write about have ancestors who originated on Earth. Some of the planets and moons our ship visits do have colonies who have been off Earth for very long periods of time though, so they may have evolved differently from those who stayed behind on good old Terra. Stay tuned. You never know when "First Contact" may happen with a purely alien race, though we have no plans for that to happen at this time. Thanks again for visiting. Are any of the characters you write about aliens or are they all Earthers? I like Brock and Ian. You're stories are sort of like Serenity. I like them. Please write some more. Tyler

Comment from one of the writers in reply to the question "Is this a fanfiction site for a television show that was on in the 80's? I think I remember these characters." All of the characters, the worlds, settings, and plots of these stories are original works by our writers. We spend a great deal of effort and creativity creating a believable background for the stories we write. The characters are also original. We're proud to say it is 100% our own creation. We do not base ANY of the content on other works, past or present. Any resemblance to other works is purely coincidental.

Another great episode - really like the establishment of how things work, the red tape and legal side of things, unions and taxes and docking fees, those little elements that remind us of the hassles in our own lives (those are the details that make sci-fi writing seem so real). Can't emphasize enough how well that works (because it's woven in so expertly, it gives realism but doesn't bog down or get dull). Love seeing the crew come closer together despite discovering something about Ian that could make them distrustful (wonderful development there), and really like seeing the doctor referred to as 'Win' - nice touch there. Just to prove I was paying attention, do watch out for those tricky words like personal/personnel, defiantly/definitely, breath/breathe -- little editing level stuff there. Overall, a delightful break from my studies - thanks for sharing your time and talents, you guys, I'm enjoying reading these as much as any episode of a great sci-fi series on tv. -- Kelly

I have to say I'm impressed again, the characterization is truly first-rate, these people come across as vivid, real, and they stay true to their established natures. I particularly like the attention to the details of this universe, that there's a system of economics, laws, social codes, whole worlds and generations with different problems... the behind-the-scenes work to make this a believable place really shows, but those details never bog the story down. Really enjoy the high quality of story-telling as well as the adventure itself. Excellent work - I will definitely make time to keep reading. Kelly O. (inkleaf@gmail.com) P.S. Do keep up the great work, I'm really, really impressed.

S told me about this and I must say that it really surpassed my expectations. Episode One was a great start to this series of novelettes and Episode Two left some open ended questions that I hope will be answered in future episodes. Great job! Melissa

I particularly liked the characterization of Fierro in this episode, as well as the introduction of the Jannula brothers. My thought, though, on the way Fierro and Cowboy were sprung was that if I was the person of influence pulling the strings, I might have tried to pull them in a manner that did not make it obvious to the crew that strings were being pulled. ;) Or maybe he/she wants them to know ??? Looking forward to the next episode. Chuck

I'm terribly impressed. Even when the story got off to a good start, and I was expecting it to be good, I still wasn't ready for the entertainment I ended up getting. The introduction of the characters, the plot twists with Overlinger, and the establishment of who's-who-and-capable-of-what were nothing short of masterful. Most of all, I love the shift of point-of-view when Dr. Green arrived to see the shoot out (it was almost like watching a flawless edit point in television). This is fantastic. The pacing and events speak of the genre nearest and dearest to my heart: adventure. The camraderie of the crew is my favorite element. Not only am I impressed, I'm eager to read more. (And I'd like to sign up, if there's room on the writers' staff ;-) What a treat - hats off for putting so much work into this -- Kelly.
